SEA SONS PRESS is a publishing and editorial label based in Leipzig, Germany.

Founded in 2017 by editor and curator Makoto Okajima and illustrator and designer Asuka Okajima, we work collaboratively across disciplines to shape ideas into tangible forms. Starting with the publication of art books, our activities have gradually expanded into the conception and realization of cultural projects. Drawing on a multicultural perspective cultivated through our experience of migration to Germany, we carefully listen to the organic connections between people and places, giving shape to these stories and bringing them to audiences.

Our strength lies in working through dialogue from the conceptual stage to visual expression in an integrated process, creating work with a clear through-line. We also welcome commission work. If you are looking for collaboration in cultural projects, editing, writing, translation, design, illustration, and more, please feel free to contact us. We work in Japanese, German, and English.
